"And
once you have tasted flight you will walk
the
Earth with your eyes skyward, for there you
have
been and there you long to return...."
--
Leonardo DiVinci
Hey Kiters,
Well Leonarda has said it all. We all have had that feeling when we were
kids and now as adults we attempt to recapture that feeling again with all of
the wonderful kites at our disposal. The search for the right wind and the
perfect day of flying has drawn us once again to the Beaches of San Diego. This
was a wonderful event and you can review some of the photos and the story in
the Latest
Fly Reports section. In a short period of time, the rest of the San
Diego and Sister club fly photo’s will be available on the web.
As for our web site, it has
experienced some minor problems and is now functioning properly. With the minor
exception of some badly needed updates. Please check in from time to time to
get the latest updates and photo’s.
And it has come to our attention that the The Leading Edge has
been posted for a full year so this is the anniversary issue of the leading
edge from Roman (The Fly’n Hawaiian) Trugillo. He has a great tip from the
masters regarding low wind flying and a great maneuver called an “Up and
Over”.
So give his article a gander and in one of our low wind flying day, give
it a try.
Well the summer is
upon us and we are now experiencing some of our famous Arizona Heat. In the
past couple of years the flying schedule continued on through these sweltering
months and turnouts have been low. Well this is for good reason and we all
should be worried about head prostration. So as a general rule do not expect to
have to many people actually show up at some of our events when the thermostat
reaches over 110 degrees. And if you do go, bring lots of water, shade, and
sunscreen. We don’t want to have anyone pass out in the sun while having fun
with your kites.

Notes From The President
Hello Fellow Kite Fliers!
Here is your Presidential Report for May.
RAFFLE UPDATE: Way to
go, Jeff Burka. Jeff's number came up when the flock of ten Joel Sholz birds
was given away at the Galveston Kite festival last month.
Our next raffle prize drawing will be held at Wildwood over Memorial
Weekend. Surprisingly, sales of tickets for the set of eight American Flag
banners has been slow. That means the odds of your winning are higher than
usual! Go to the web page at www.aka.kite.org, click on the raffle link, and
then click on the "secure server" button. Online sales close
Wednesday, May 23rd.
Ever want to own the "ultimate kite bag"?? The latest prize has
been posted to the web page now. Only Into the Wind could have put together
such a great collection. The contents include a 20' Raptor Delta, 10' Dan Leigh
Carbon Classic Delta, Sunchaser Parafoil 17, 11' Rainbow Chopstick, Solstice
Banner, and all the line, winders, wind meters, and accessories you could want
-- all packed into a a 72" Big Wing bag.
This is a $1400 package and tickets are only five bucks! Everything you'd
need to have your own kite festival is included. We also have two other future
prizes posted -- big stacks of Dyna Kites and a pair of Sutton 252 Flowforms.
***
INSURANCE POLICIES REVISED: Your Board has updated the AKA insurance
program to fully cover kite surfers and traction fliers. As long as you aren't
"intentionally lifting over land", you are insured for $100,000
anytime you fly in North America. And yes, North American includes Canada. Sanctioned
events are covered for a million dollars.
Tell your kite surfing friends about the AKA insurance program. Tell all
of your kite friends! And remember -- when you sign up three members, you get a
special "I Got Three" pin.
***
10% DISCOUNT at MEMBER MERCHANTS: When you buy a kite, don't forget to
mention you are an AKA member. Your membership entitles you to 10% off the
standard price from all of our member merchants. That discount may not
apply to sale prices or special promotions, but it should still save you
$30 a year.
Encourage your local merchant to distribute AKA membership forms.
Convenient pads are available from your Executive Director at < xd@aka.kite.org
>.

FLY in the BIG SKY! The convention news from Billings just keeps getting
better and better. Our welcoming reception will be at the Billings Airport
beneath their fantastic art kite exhibition. If you would like an early peek at
this great collection, go to <http://www.skywindworld.org/index.php3>.
Registration forms for the annual convention will be in the next issue of
Kiting. Remember that early registration saves you money! That means you'll
have more to spend at the Great Kite Auction!!
And don't forget to bring your five special kites for the daily Mass
Ascensions. You'll need a sport kite, cellular, delta, rok or fighter, and
foil. Participants each day get a special pin which fits together into a larger
set when you earn them all. This year, we are recruiting daily sponsors for the
ascensions. You can sponsor a pin for $300 and we'll mention you all day long.
You also get a limited edition set of pins to keep. Three clubs on the East
Coast have signed up so far. Letís hear from a club or business from the Mid
West or West Coast.
***
WANT TO WORK FOR the AKA? In the next month, we will be accepting
proposals for paid positions to manage the annual AKA Convention or the AKA
Store. For full details on these contracts and what proposals should consider,
contact our Contracts Committee Chair, Brooks Leffler, at < kyteman@redshift.com >.
That's all for now. See you on the field soon!

Notes
From The Region 12 Diretor
Hello gang of 260
plus. I hope all of you are enjoying
the weather from Guam to Arizona.
Summer is approaching & so are more events.
This weekend is the Buggy Boogie Sprang Thang (I think that's how this
one goes) @ El Mirage Dry Lake East of Palmdale California. Roll on over!
I received some Good & MORE WONDERFUL news today. June 3rd will be the 3rd Annual Ben Franklin
Kite Festival @ the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, CA. That's the good news. The MORE WONDERFUL news is that they have
reserved the Auditorium IN PEN for us this year! Several of us local (wacked out) INDOOR flyers will be on hand
giving demos to shocked spectators. I
am putting out an All Regional Points Bulletin to ANYONE who wants to
participate or learn how to fly, "The No Wind Way" :)
Obviously, show up to the festival JUST FOR THE FUN. However, if you want to join us inside, let
me know so we can properly schedule the demos.
I know, I know, I used a bad word...SCHEDULE. Bare with me, I'm the Regional :)
Back outside, July 7th is the Long Beach Sport Kite Classic @ Belmont.
YOU DON'T have to compete to show up
& enjoy the day.
Redondo's Summer version of the Festival of the Kite is Sunday, July
22nd. Come down (or over, or up ) and
join Tom & Ani share their third festival with the newest addition of their
family, T3.
Santa Barbara in August??? Who
knows? We may need a letter campaign to
the city for this one.
Harbor Days is scheduled for the first weekend in October @ Port
Hueneme. Good Food & Authentic
South
Pacific Beachware are some of the highlights. Oh Yeah, Kites too!
The week after our National Convention in Billings is set for the
Festival @ the Santa Monica Pier. I
would like to ask any of you who would like to volunteer to share what you love
about Kiting @ this event. We are
planning Kids Kite Making, HUGE Single Line Dsplays, Sport Kite Demos and maybe
even a little Open Hot Tricks competition as a crowd pleaser. As I stated previously, this could turn out
to be a GREAT ANNUAL EVENT. Something we
REALLY need in our Region. If you would
like to help, PLEASE let me know.
I do not want to leave out the MANY non and semi organized Club Flys that
happen all over. From The Route 66 KC,
The Arizona Free Flyers, The San Diego KC, The Seal Beach KC, The Sport Kite
Club of America in Playa Del Rey, The Hawaii Sport Kite Association, and every
other club I have missed (Sorry) usually have something going every
weekend. Get out & fly. I'll be recharging my batteries with the
Ventura County Kite Flyers in Oxnard tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend folks, I'm going to enjoy mine :)

Sunday – Fly At Riverview Report:
Mike (AKA Spectra Mike)
was there at about noon (I missed him) Reg was there most of the day Hugh was
there in the mid-afternoon. The wind was marginal to good; Reg is getting some
delta-coyn single line time as well as flying the Pro-wren and that Dodd kite.
I picked up a used
"Precisionist", a brother kite to the Pro-wren. It flies pretty nice; can't wait to get some
more time in with it when there are better winds.
Normally there is a
better turnout on a Sunday at Riverview - might be the warm weather or LFS
(limp flag syndrome).
Hope everyone in the
club had a great weekend elsewhere.

Saturday – San Diego Sister Club Fly Report:
Well this event was better than
ever with a large showing by the San Diego Kite Club (SDKC), and similar
showings by the Route 66 Kite Club and Southern
California Sport Kite League - www.scskl.com The members in attendance for R66KC were
Gadget Man and Lady Hummingbird, Billy Mad Dog Dines, Rocky Point Howard and
Maddie, and one of our newest members Sid Corty (her grandson Brian and family
could not make it at the last minute). We had one less than last year but more
commitments to come than before. We figure that our numbers will be growing
soon as we have had many new people joining the club as of late. (A SDKC member
joined us on the spot in order to get one of our great T-Shirts.)
Well we started by joining the SDKC in their business meeting, (Tom,
Jane, and Bill Dines are also members of the SDKC), and enjoyed what a club
with officers and official meetings was all about. (We are still glad that the
R66KC does not follow this process.) If you like the wonderous beach winds in
San Diego, we might recommend that you join the SDKC as well. At the end of
this meeting, Gadget Man provided some jocularity for all as he presented our
new Region 12 Director, Glen Rothstein, with a R66KC T-Shirt and made him an
Honorary member of the club. Glen loved the shirt and promised to some and try
our our infamous winds of Arizona some time soon.
Well the wind was low and kites
were going up and down on a regular basis as they do in Arizona, and for a
moment we thought that we had brought our Arizona bad blow winds with us. When
around noon to one pm, the winds showed us that we were really in San Diego and
became the wonderfully full and steady breezes we have come to love at about 15
mph. Lots of single liners lifted into the air and even the new, and hardly
flown Big Bird, or 20ft Delta Raptor jumped to the sky with lots of line
laundry being lifted for all to see.
Even Mad Dog Dines was able to
get his sometimes finicky Snow Flake Kite up for some really rock steady
flying.
Photo’s By Sid
The wonderful little patch kite
that almost flys in nothing, was caught inside the spikey bowl for a great
optical illusion that it is inside of the bowl itself. The sky guys tell a
different story though.
Well once the single liners were
secured, out came the stunt kites with the full range from stacked two liners
to custom made Quads. The Spirit kite was something that all of the R66KC
members had to try and even the specialty hand made quad by SDKC member Charlie
was a favorite with our members. (For more photo’s see the web site’s photo
gallery.)
The day was great and the pot
luck sponsored by the SDKC was fantastic. The donated AZ Salsa and chips were
eagerly devoured and everyone was fat and happy. The afternoon closed with the
SDKC having their traditional ceremony for those that have passed away, and our
little troop retired to the Beach Cottages to prepare for the arrival of the
Night Fly contingency.
The Bar-B-Que that evening was great with Steaks and Hamburgers all around and some really great winds for the Night Fly. Carl Hanson from the SDKC came with his hand made Kite Photography rig and attempted to get several shots on the Beach prior to the light actually failing. Perhaps we will have some of those shots to share the next Issue.
Well the winds had died down but
were good enough for the intrepid Arizona special Pro Wrens and our hand made
ultra-lite light sets made by Al-Habib, and we took to the night sky to many a
spectator’s approval. The evening was a-blur with the full moon and the
swirling of the kite lights in the sky, and as per usual, Lady Hummingbird
would not leave the dance on the beach until the last of us had given up and
prepared for bed. Well, as we all know, we each have our special love when we
fly, and this one is her’s.
Well we hope that next years event
will have even more kiters from all of the clubs, and an even better night fly.
And for those of us that cannot wait for the wondrous winds of the beach, we
will have a joint event with the Harley Owners Group in September. So make
those reservations for next year, and this coming September now, because this
is a very popular place to go, and not just for the fabulous winds.
Good Winds, and hoping to see you
all there!

05/26/2001 Saturday – Sprinverville
Windfest 2001 Report:
From The Pages Of The
Arizona Free Flyers (ArFF)
Springerville Wind
Fest....or....<Day of the Dragons>
As you can see from the above photo of Vaughn Wilhelm's Giant Dragon kite,
this wasn't going to be your average kite Festival!!! The Springerville Wind
fest was sure a lot of fun, and Kay and I have never met a nicer group of
flyers gathered together in one place in quite a while. To all the
Springerville/St.Johns flyers....THANK YOU ALL for a great day in your town! We
just can't wait to get back up there next year!
See.....the massive Dragon kite was as big as the Festival promoters
hearts!
This Kite Festival was very exciting because it can only grow....and grow....and grow... next year the Springerville Wind fest will
cover TWO days!
Lots of flyers made the trip from Tucson, Flagstaff, and Phoenix to share
in a day of kiting. Many thanks to you all for taking the time to venture out
on the Memorial Day Weekend...... Can't say enough.... nor remember enough, but
a special thanks to the Tucson flyers who camped in Springerville for the
weekend (think we will join you next year), and to all the ArFF flyers who
continue to venture into the realms of the unknown, and enjoy the ride there.
The fly was held on a huge field overlooking the town, next to the
airport and offers plenty of room for expansion in future events. There was a
PA too! The wind was light in the AM, and then grew in strength throughout the
afternoon, till it was really cook'in. (I'm told that in April the winds there
can be quite a handful, to say the least!) At one point a 30 MPH or more gust
slammed into the kite camps, and kites, umbrella's, blankets, and most anything
that wasn't tied down, flew into the air in a frenzied whirl-wind of color! The
Temps were a little ((hotter)) than we expected, but still in the 80's.
Sunshine and smiles bathed the upturned flyers faces as they flew in the
beautiful Springerville skies.....
Lots of spectators came out, kites in hand, some just camping out on the
road and watching the activities... Did I say that the Promoters of the
Springerville Wind Fest were some of the nicest around? Not only did they
organize the whole thing, but they also handed out some really nice
"awards" for the various kite games and activities!!!! ROK battles,
Fighter kite battles, largest kite (see above), best crash, best of show and
best kite Stunts! Jo Anne from Tucson won the Fighter kite award for her
absolutely tenacious assault on the other flyers to take the prize....a really
nice 20 Foot DRAGON KITE!
The fighter kite and ROK Battles were quite a scene.....and with all that
field to maneuver your kite around in, made for a lot of running, laughing,
panting out of breath flyers (like me) and tangled line was everywhere!
The awards ceremony closed out the day as the wind started to wail...
Hugh got out his "WASP" and proceeded to scream across the skies with
it! That kite really SCREEEEEAMS at the end of the day! (at this point in the
day, I also saw the nastiest kite crash I ever heard.....
Welp....before finishing this post, just another quick look at Vaughn's
DRAGON again, and a small reminder that next year the Springerville Wind Fest
will be giving away a trip for two to China as a grand prize......
It just gets better.....and better.....
Many thanks to Vaughn Wilhelm, Ken Smith, and the town Springerville....
Dave Evans of ArFF

non-fliers to the sport. Some discussion at the last fly was made of parks

Rocky Point
Kite Festival – October 12th Through The 14th
Hi guys,
Just got back from Rocky Point and catching up on lots of e-mail. Had a wonderful time in R/P. Flew every day but one -- cause the wind was way too high. Flew just about everything including fighters, dual lines, my Rev and a few single line kites I made. Beaches were relatively empty except for the weekend. Lots of kids off from school for Easter recess. Did not meet a single flyer during the entire week stay. Usually I'll catch one or two serious flyers on the beach, but not this trip. R/P is a wonderful place for kite flying and I'd like to suggest the following in order for the entire club to enjoy.
Per our discussion, lets reserve the weekend of October
12, 13 and 14th for a club fly at R/P. Here are some details to consider
relative to that weekend:
1. The trip to R/P is a 4 - 4 1/2 hour drive from
Phoenix. Roads in Arizona are mostly freeway. In Mexico, it's a 60 mile drive
from the border on a well maintained 2 lane paved road. To get to R/P from east
valley, take Maricopa Road exit on I-10 about 35 miles to Rte. 8, west about 35
miles to Gila Bend . South on Rte. 85 for approximately 75 miles to
Lukeville/Sonoyta border crossing. South on MEX. 8 for about 60 miles to R/P.
From west valley, take I-10 to Rte 85 and south through Gila Bend.
2. Mexican auto insurance is required when driving in
Mexico. This can be purchased in Ajo and will cost between $50.00 - $100.00 for
a weekend depending upon value of your vehicle. This covers everything,
including towing in Mexico should you get stuck. I suggest car pooling and
sharing insurance costs (providing there is room for lots of kite bags in the
vehicle).
3. Crossing the border at Lukeville is a 2 - 3 minute
affair. Sometimes you might be asked to open your trunk and this adds about a
minute to the process. Remember, no guns, no drugs, no exceptions!
4. We can rent a beautiful 6 - 8 bedroom fully furnished
house directly on the beach for between $100.00 - 150.00 per night, per couple.
The difference in costs would depend upon how luxurious the accomodations are.
Most rooms have double beds and private baths. Generally there is a community
kitchen with full cooking facilities. We must bring our own food. Cooking
utensils are provided. To get an idea of what houses are available, go to
RockyPoint Reservations on the internet. Lots of pictures, etc.
5. For the budget minded, hotel rooms are available
generally a few blocks from the beach and run between $50.00 - $80.00 per
night, double occupancy. Drive time to beaches usually are about 2 minutes,
unless we are way out of town, then
about 15 - 20 minutes.
6. Resturaunts abound in R/P. Breakfast runs about $3.00
per person, lunch about $ 6.00 per person and great dinners for about $12.00 -
$15.00 per person. If we cook our own, lots of groceries are available for beer
and chips. R/P is a small town, no Wal-Marts, Costco, Safeway or Blockbuster.
If there are things you can't live without, bring them from home.
7. While we are there, we can meet with representatives of
Sonora tourism, the mayor and other dignitaries to discuss a kite festival.
They are eager to meet with us to discuss a mutually beneficial
relationship.
8. The winds generally blow pretty constant from morning
till evening, varying from light in the AM to about 5 - 8 mph in the PM.
Sometimes, winds do get to 15 - 20 on rare occassions. Weather in October is
beautiful. This is prime season therefore, I will need a committment from the
club now in order to reserve a beach house or hotel rooms.
We have been going to R/P 6 - 8 times per year for the
past 5 years and each time we go, we enjoy it more than ever. I'm sure those
who have never been there will be impressed with the country, the people and
their culture.
If you have questions, please e-mail (howmad@aol.com).

Sunshine
Acres Children’s Home/Orphanage Charity Event – We need help in
coming up with ideas for this charity.
I have raised $10,000/year for this Children’s home through the Harley
Owners Group (HOG), but do not have a clue as to how the R66KC can raise money
for these needy kids. Please send your ideas to r66kc@tmsquared.com Thanks.
Well you guessed it, I finally came up with an idea. With
all of the events that enjoy having us signal their events with a kite, would
could request donations to our charity on our behalf for our efforts! (yea like
right, what effort... ha ha). So keep this in mind and perhaps we can get more
big event planned, and some real monies for the Sunshine Acres Children’s Home.
We still need
ideas for this Charity Event!
Any thoughts

Tuesday - New Years Day Fun Fly (For those of us that can function that is.)
04/14/2002 - Easter Assention Tradition
One of our members,
Juan, states that he has a tradition in the country that he is from, Guyana,
which is to fly kites during Easter, especially Easter Sunday. Actually, this
is the only time kites are flown in Guyana he states. The reason being that
sending a kite up into the skies is significant of Jesus's resurrection and
ascension to the Father. He keeps this tradition with his family and plans on
flying Easter Sunday. We may or may not plan a fly on Easter each year, mainly
because lots of us plan on being together with family on this special day, but
we will all be with Juan in spirit. If you remember this tradition from Guyana
on Easter, try to get a kite up and think of this tradition.
If anyone has or knows
about traditions such as this, please send them in so that we can share them
all with the rest of the club. And let’s all join Juan and Guyana in this
wonderful Easter Ascension tradition!
05/11/2002 –Third Annual Sister Club Fly In San Diego
Come and tryout some really great winds with loads of fun for the whole
family. Sea World, Old Down, Seaport Village, Mission Bay, Mission beach, the
ocean, shopping, and a myriad of other things for the family to do. We will be
joining the SDKC, (http://www.sdkc.net) at their Mission Bay Park for a Sister
club fly on Saturday, with a night fly on the beach Saturday evening hosted by
R66KC. A Saturday evening barbecue will be promoted as well. We would like to have
everyone stay at the same hotel if possible for easier logistics. The “Beach
Cottages” hotel is on Mission Boulevard (858) 483-7440 and right on the beach
for everyone’s enjoyment with lots of shops and restaurants within easy walking
distance. The rooms run from $75-$85/night for hotel rooms through $250/night
for a two-bedroom cottage. Jane and I
have a one-bedroom cottage that we all can congregate at, so my recommendation
is the cheaper rooms. Everyone should
get their reservations in early because this is a popular place. Hope to see
you all there!
Note: Any ideas for events, please
contact the Gadget Man at: R66KC@TMSquared.com.

San Diego Goers Are Growing!
Hi Tom,
San Diego sounds nice
indeed! It's usually pretty hard for us
to beak away on weekends, what with Maggie's soccer, Brownies, family demands,
house maintenance, money, etc., etc.
I have a brother who is moving from Dallas to San Diego later this month.
Once he gets situated in his new house, we plan to go over and spend some time
with him. He won't be fully set up for
another couple months or so. We'll probably take a vacation in San Diego later
this summer.
It'll be nice having someone in San Diego to stay with. Hopefully I will be able to make it over
there more often for kiting events.
Anyhow, have fun! Send some
pictures of your new Raptor. I'll bet
it looks mighty cool!

Beach Boats Available Now
A fellow Kiter reports:
Went for a haircut the
other day and while waiting for my turn, I started to browse through the
"magazine" selection they offered. Here is what I stumbled across
(much to my surprise) it's the Incredible Flying Beach Boat! Not only do they
sell them, but you can actually "rent" them and go flying! Check it
out.....

Flies When No Others Will
Great For Night Flying
Stacks Easily & Looks
Spectacular and Very Durable
Sky Burner has always produced high quality sport kites but we have
always enjoyed flying single line kites too. Our good friend Tom Marshick made
this ultra lite rok that flew great. We liked it so much we decided to make it
for the rest of our friends. It flies in just about nothing, it is incredibly
stable and is fun to stack. It is made out of the best material available on
the market, the Icarex Polycarbonate and has a Carbon tube frame. Best of all
it is made totally in the USA.

Reminder: Renewal Registration For
R66KC
It has been determined
that it would be too difficult to track and contact each one of you
individually, as to when your Club dues become due. Due to this, the May
timeframe has been selected as the date for club membership renewal. Also, dues
collected at any other time of year from new members will not be pro-rated. Our
intent is to keep the process simple, and keep the dues down to
$5.00/person/year, which is cheep compared to some clubs that charge as much as
$25.00/person/year or more. If anyone has any problems with this please contact
me at your earliest convenience.
Warning: We need responses to the following questions in a
timely manor, from all of the
membership. If we cannot get the needed responses, we may have to call an
actual meeting, eeeeeeuuuuuuuuwwwwwwwww. :-(

The Smile Factor
(By
Our Fly’n Hawaiian)
I fly
for the smiles :)
The smiles I get when I pull off a double axle
with practically no wind....
The smiles I see on a kid when he sees a colorful
kite in the air....
The smiles that go around when meeting new kiters
for the first time....
The smiles that go around when you meet up with
long, lost kiters....
The smiles that are anticipating the next kite
you pull out of your bag....
The smiles that are brought to a special kiting
event....
Start racking up some frequent flyer smiles!!! Go
and fly a kite!!
Aloha
Roman
Aloha, Kite
Flyers! This one is for the “windless
wonders” to try out. You know who you
are….the guys with the zero-wind, ultra-light kites. Ever heard of an “Up and Over”?
This trick is one of those unsung heroes of zero-wind kite flying. But when done to perfection it looks like it
is an impossible feat.
First, start
out by using an ultra-light kite, i.e. Nik Nak, Vapor, Ozone, or ProWren. Stall the kite so it is parallel and a
couple of feet above the ground. Start
walking slowly backwards with your arms stretched forward. As the kite moves up, lead the kite with
your arms moving them above your head.
This move is not a normal technique of flying and may be awkward at
first but it sets you up for the next move.
When the kite is just above you, do a 180-degree turn with your body,
walk backwards and bring your hands down towards the ground. This move helps keep pressure on the kite
sail to keep it moving forward. Now the
kite is flying in a downward position and must be turned left, right, or
180-degrees so it will not crash into the ground. Once you have perfected the transition move to a smooth motion
you can do back-to-back “up and overs”.
Now, try it
when there is a little wind by using the edges of the wind window. While other kite flyers are flying with the
backs toward the wind, you’ll be flying with one shoulder to the wind. This trick makes for a good show and also
gives you a good work out.
Until next
time, I’ll see you on the Leading Edge
Straighten up
and fly right!
The Fly’n Hawaiian is off on Vacation in California with his brother who flew in from Hawaii. What you want to bet, that some of his vacation time will be on the beach with a kite. Hopefully we will get a full report when he returns.
Note:
Please feel free to give Roman holly hell the next time you see him. He has
reported that he will be spending the New Year celebration in Hawaii!!! And he
has indicated that he does not need a manservant to carry his bags for him,
(boo hoo).
